The Union Grove Wolverines managed through a push by Hampton in the fourth inning where Union Grove Wolverines Varsity coughed up three runs, but the Wolverines still won 13-3 on Monday. Hampton scored its runs on a single by Tucker Tatham.
Union Grove put up three runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught by UG was led by Ben Norton, Trevor Dowdy, and Ty Kaufman, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Andrew Smith was the winning pitcher for the Wolverines. He went three innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out six and walking zero. Carson Huber and Kaufman entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Tatham took the loss for Hampton. He lasted four innings, allowing nine hits and seven runs while striking out two.
Union Grove totaled 12 hits. Peyton Sower and Joey Pourron each had multiple hits for Union Grove Wolverines Varsity. Sower led the Wolverines with three hits in three at bats.
