A cold windy night led to a pitching duel between Union Grove and South Gwinnett on Wednesday night. The Wolverines took the lead in the 6th inning to claim a 3-2 victory.
The game was tied at 2 in the bottom of the sixth when Ty Kaufman doubled to centerfield, driving in the go ahead run.
Pitching was strong for both sides and 5 total hits were tallied between the two teams. South Gwinnett was led by Andrew Lewis on the mound. Union Grove starter Carson Huber went 4 innings allowing only 2 runs.
Beau Brand, Huber and Kaufman each managed a hit in the contest for Union Grove.
