Cody Funk was an RBI machine on Saturday, driving in four on two hits to lead Union Grove Wolverines past Ola 9-1 on Saturday. Funk drove in runs on a single in the third and a single in the fifth.
Union Grove secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fifth inning. Jackson Andrews, Turner Cook, and Funk each drove in runs during the inning.
UG notched six runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Andrews and Funk and by Cook.
Brandon Cook led things off on the pitcher’s mound for the Wolverines. He went three innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out four.
O’quinn led things off on the mound for Ola. He lasted two and a third innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out two. Randolf and Wesley entered the game as relief, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one inning respectively.
The Wolverines saw the ball well, racking up nine hits in the game. Funk and Trey Mitchell all collected multiple hits for Union Grove . Mitchell and Funk each collected two hits to lead the Wolverines. Union Grove stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Caden Warner led the way with two.
McLaughin went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Ola in hits.
