Wolverines Varsity Can’t Catch Up To Ola
Wolverines Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 7-1 loss to Ola on Friday. Ola scored on a home run by Patrick Holloman in the first inning, a double by Tatum Sullivan in the first inning, a single by Cason Barnett in the first inning, and a single by Holloman in the second inning.
The Wolverines Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Ola, giving up seven runs.
Ola opened up scoring in the first inning. Ola scored three runs when Holloman homered.
Evan Boyle was the winning pitcher for Ola. He went five and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on five hits, striking out five and walking one. Jeremy Kosado and Tyler Richardson entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Adam Burnett took the loss for Wolverines Varsity. He lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing two hits and five runs.
Joey Pourron led Wolverines Varsity with two hits in three at bats.
Ola collected 11 hits. Holloman, Noah Norman, and Barnett all collected multiple hits for Ola. Holloman went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Ola in hits.
