WINDER — The Union Grove Wolverines gave Chad Frazier his first win as head coach of the program Friday night with a 28-12 road victory against Apalachee.

The Wolverines led 14-12 late in the third quarter before two touchdowns put the game out of reach. JT Knight’s strip and score put Union Grove up 21-12, followed by Devin Tumlin’s 55-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

“Great team effort tonight,” Frazier said. “Special teams play was solid, we had a defensive touchdown and offensively we never punted.”

Keyon Carter and Tristan Meredith also scored touchdowns for Union Grove. Kicker Cade LeJeune was flawless on point after attempts with four made attempts.

Union Grove (1-2) will return to Region 4-AAAAA play next week against Eagle’s Landing High School.
