Wolverines Varsity Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Jones County
Wolverines Varsity defeated Jones County 4-1 thanks to a strong start. Wolverines Varsity took the lead on a single in the second inning.
Wolverines Varsity took an early lead in the second inning. Jake Beach drove in one when he singled in the second inning.
Tyler Staton earned the win for Wolverines Varsity. He pitched seven innings, giving up one run, six hits, and striking out two. Bradley Hunnicut took the loss for Jones County. He tossed four innings, giving up two runs, five hits, striking out three, and walking one.
Wolverines Varsity had ten hits in the game. Dylan Murphy, Jalen Jones, Kyle Ayers, and Beach each collected multiple hits for Wolverines Varsity. Beach, Ayers, Jones, and Murphy all had two hits to lead Wolverines Varsity.
Jones County collected six hits. Brooks Veal and Jordan Miller each collected multiple hits for Jones County. Jones County was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Veal had the most chances in the field with five.

Union Grove Wolverines locked up the No. 2 seed in Region 4-5A with this victory.
