Four RBI Day For Martin Leads Wolverines Varsity Past Stockbridge
Drew Martin drove in four on three hits to lead Wolverines Varsity past Stockbridge 20-1 on Friday. Martin drove in runs on a double in the fifth and a single in the fifth.
An early lead helped propel Wolverines Varsity to victory. Wolverines Varsity scored on a fielder’s choice by Jake Beach, a fielder’s choice by Austin Atkins, and a fielder’s choice by Dylan Czecholinski in the first inning.
Wolverines Varsity captured the lead in the first inning. Beach hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.
Wolverines Varsity scored 13 runs in the fifth inning. Wolverines Varsity’s big inning was driven by a stolen base by Ryan Inman, a single by Czecholinski, a double by Drew Martin, a single by Grayson Gammage, a groundout by Brody Couch, a double by Bryce Martin, a single by Inman, a single by Martin, and a single by Kyle Ayers.
Adam Burnett earned the win for Wolverines Varsity. He pitched four innings, allowing zero runs, three hits, striking out six, and walking one. Gabe McKenzie took the loss for Stockbridge. He threw four innings, surrendering 11 runs, nine hits, and striking out two.
Wolverines Varsity collected 16 hits. Inman, Martin, Dylan Murphy, and Czecholinski each collected multiple hits for Wolverines Varsity. Martin and Inman each managed three hits to lead Wolverines Varsity. Wolverines Varsity was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Czecholinski made the most plays with nine.
Stockbridge had five hits in the game. Jamond Farrar and Micheal Harris each collected multiple hits for Stockbridge. Farrar went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Stockbridge in hits.
